A gift, from Kenny to Sammy
This is kind of funny...
Everyone who registered a vehicle in Nevada received a check last year for each vehicle. These checks ranged from $75 to $275, depending on the cost of the registration. Senior citizens received a check for $75, regardless of whether or not they registered a vehicle.
If you were one of the fortunate recipients of Gov. Kenny Guinn's generous "gift" (called a 'rebate' at the time), better get ready to pony up Uncle Sam's portion! The gift we received from our state government is taxable by our federal government.
Granted, it's only if you itemize, and it's not exactly a fortune, but it's the principle of the thing!

This is exactly why I'm giving up my car and moving away from this corrupt state ... but I won't be able to move without my car, so I guess I'll just stay right here. Damn you catch 22!!!!
