A long time coming
Wow...it has been quite some time since our last "news" update. August was a quiet month. We celebrated Rob's birthday, continued to clean out Mom and Dad's house, and enjoyed some of the last days of summer- swimming, and bar-b-cueing with friends.
As usual, the start of the school year was one of the busiest times of the year for the Weidenfeld family. Hannah started her last year of elementary school; that's right, she is now in the 5th grade. She is in student council, both as her class representative and as the student council president. She is also in our school's drama club and will be one of the narrators for the upcoming Dicken's A Christmas Carol at school. Eva is in 4th grade and loves her class. She is also a part of student council, as the alternate representative for her class. She auditioned for and made it into the school's instrument ensemble. She will be performing for the play, as well. With all of their school activities, the girls have decided to take some time off from drama and dance outside of school this year.
October brought the girls' birthdays and with them, lots of celebrations. We now, officially, live with two "tweens." We postponed their big party for later in the month so that it could have a Halloween theme. Our house was transformed into a haunted house, complete with a fog machine and creepy music, and so on. Rob took photos of all of the kids in their costumes in front of the green screen. Then he was able to add a spooky background, and we sent the photos out in all of the thank you cards. It was a great idea!
As Thanksgiving approaches, we are preparing to have the big dinner here at our house. Rob's mom and sister will be in town, along with some other friends of the family. Combined with some cousins on my side, we should have about 15 people over. Unfortunately, my dad will be spending the holday in New York. The holidays definitely aren't what they used to be; but we are thankful for the blessing of having eachother.
To see some photos of the last few months with the Weidenfelds, be sure to check out our photos page. Until the next update....enjoy the holiday season!
