Making Progress

Well, after being in the house for exactly two weeks, things are finally getting settled (compare this photo of the 'game room' to the last one!). We're still trying to figure out which light switch turns on which light, and which drawer the silverware is in, but most of the boxes are unpacked and we're getting back to life as usual.

We'll post more 'in-depth' news this weekend, but for now, at least our heads are above water again! More later...

Moving Sucks!

Sorry to be so blunt, but there's no better way to put it, really. Moving day was Tuesday, Aug. 30, and it was Thurs. late afternoon before we actually had everything we own out of the old house and into the new. What a mess. Among the low-lights of the process were:

  • The movers broke an almost new desk (insurance covers $.60/pound, should net us about $23.14).
  • The movers paid no attention to what was written on the boxes, so nothing is where it should be
  • The phone company was 2 days late getting our service switched over
  • We've eaten out for virtually every meal for about 4 days
  • We lost our beloved turtle, Crush, who somehow disappeared during the process

But, all in all, it's good to be in, and it will no doubt be a long, gruelling process to put our home back together. Hopfully things will be ready in time for our traditional Christmas Eve party!
